Business-class seating on the 777-300ER
In conjunction with a new destination, the partnership between Qatar Airways and US Airways will expand. US Airways merged with American Airlines earlier this month.
Qatar Airways announced it will begin to offer daily nonstop service from Philadelphia to Doha starting on April 2, 2014 and that it is entering into a codeshare agreement with US Airways for flights operating out of Philadelphia International Airport to provide connections to passengers on the new flight.
The codeshare will include flights from Philadelphia to Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Meyers, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Palm Beach, Phoenix, Raleigh-Durham, and San Francisco.
Qatar will operate the Philadelphia-Doha flight using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Flights will depart Philadelphia at 10:30 a.m., and arrive in Doha at 6:10 a.m. the next day. From Doha, flights will depart at 1:10 a.m., and will arrive in the City of Brotherly Love at 7:55 a.m.
Qatar’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft are outfitted with 293 seats in economy class and 42 seats in business class. The seats in business class are lie-flat, with a width of 22″ and a pitch of 78″.
Qatar currently operates nonstop flights to New York, Chicago, Houston, and Washington, D.C. from its hub in Doha.
US Airways and Qatar announced their first codeshare agreement in 2009. In addition to a single ticket and one-stop check-in, members of either airline can earn miles or points while travelling on all flights of the other carrier and can also redeem award tickets on the other carrier as well.
Qatar Airways joined the oneworld alliance in October of this year. US Airways will join oneworld on March 31, 2014.
