American Airlines regional jets at LaGuardia
A small passenger jet declared an emergency and made an emergency landing at a Houston airport late Monday after a problem with its landing gear.
American Airlines Flight 1825, operated by US Airways, was en route to George Bush Intercontinental Airport from Philadelphia late Monday when the pilot realized that the aircraft’s front landing gear had not deployed.
The aircraft, an Embraer 190 regional jet, landed safely after the plane made several passes over the airport.
The 52 passengers and four crew members were able to evacuate the aircraft using emergency slides shortly after landing at 11:00 p.m. local time, according to a statement released by American. One passenger was transported to hospital but the airline said that his injuries were not believed to be serious.
