JetBlue Airways announced the beginning of new service from Washington Reagan National Airport to Charleston, South Carolina; Hartford, Connecticut; and Nassau, Bahamas.   In addition, the airline said it will begin new seasonal flights between Washington Reagan and both Fort Myers and West Palm Beach, Florida, on December 18.

JetBlue’s service between Reagan and both Charleston and Hartford is twice daily, while its Washington Reagan-Nassau service operates once daily.   The carrier’s seasonal service from the Washington airport to Forth Myers and West Palm Beach will both operate twice daily.

In addition to the new routes, the airline plans to add a second daily flight to its existing service between Washington Reagan and Tampa, Florida, on July 2.

JetBlue’s new routes and additional service from Washington Reagan are made possible by the 12 slots that the carrier acquired from American Airlines after its merger with US Airways in December.   The combined airline, now the world’s largest, was required to divest numerous slots as part of a deal to gain approval for the merger from the Department of Justice.
