US Airways plane at Washington Reagan
US Airways, now a subsidiary of American Airlines Group, said it will drop several airline partners next month.
Members of the airline’s Dividend Miles frequent flyer program will no longer be able to earn and redeem miles with Turkish and Singapore Airlines, effective August 1. Both are Star Alliance members.
US Airways left Star Alliance earlier this year following its merger with American and joined oneworld. At the time, it kept numerous relationships with airlines in Star Alliance despite its switch in alliances. Since then, the airline has scaled back its relationship with Air New Zealand, Avianca and EVA Air.
Other partners that will continue, at least for the time being, include Aegean, Air China, Ethiopian Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, South African Airways, TAM, and TAP.
While the partnerships with Turkish and Singapore will end August 1, Dividend Miles members can still book flights up to one year in advance on these carriers.
